    Day Ride - Saturday 3 May 2014

...followed by lunch at the Molesworth Pub!

TIME: 9.00am sharp for muster, ride out at 9.30am. LENGTH OF RIDE: 4 hours total (approx).
    PACE: Slow to medium.

    RIDE DESCRIPTION:

This is a 3 to 4 hour ride along the Goulburn River Rail Trail. The ride will depart the car park at the corner of Goulburn Valley Highway and Whanregarwen Road, Molesworth (diagonally opposite the Molesworth pub) at 9.30am. An easy ride, it will suit shod and barefoot horses, however there are some rocky patches, so it’s advisable to carry hoof boots. Bitless horses welcome. There are a couple of bridge crossings and of course the 200 metre (approx) tunnel at our destination, ‘Cheviot Tunnel’. Non riders are most welcome to attend the pub for lunch.

    DIRECTIONS:

Travel from the township of Yea, head towards Mansfield along the Goulburn Valley Highway until you reach Molesworth. Turn right into Whanregarwen Road, then do an immediate right turn into the car park.

    RIDE FEES:

$5.00 for club and visiting ATHRA members
$25.00 for visitors non ATHRA members (cost includes insurance for the day)

    LUNCH:

If you’d like to join us for a yummy pub lunch, please let Sue know ASAP for pub catering purposes. There is plenty of space to tie horses up behind the pub in a secured paddock. BYO head collars/halters, lead ropes and baling twine and money for lunch and drinks.
