BULLOCKS HILL (SNOWY MOUNTAINS) RIDE Saturday NOV 2 2013

This ride is open to TTHRInc club members, ATHRA members and non members, who will be required to pay a Day ride fee of $30 for insurance purposes.

Ride Register: It is a requirement that all participants sign the ride register upon arrival at the ride base. A parent or guardian MUST sign the register for junior riders (under 18).

Ride Start Time: Saturday 2 November, saddle up by 9:00am for 9.30 start. NO LATE STARTERS, SORRY.

Directions: From Cooma take the Snowy Mountains Highwayto Adaminaby, then travel another  40 km to Bullocks Hill (30km to Kiandra + 10km to Bullocks Hill) on your right.

 Ride Description:  Easy, some hills, brumby trails, gullies.

Grid/Map/GPS reference:  Map 1:25 000 Tantangara

Ride Warnings/Alerts:   Bush walkers, brumbies, creek crossings, wild animals, old fences.

Ride Difficulty:  Easy walking pace, some faster work (this will depend on the riders)

Horse Fitness: Horses must be moderately fit and sound

Estimated Duration: Depends on the type of day weather wise

Catering:  Bring all camping gear & food + drinking water for yourself.

Equipment:  Bring headstalls for tying, leading horses, other equipment as required by the individual for day ride. Electric fence  for yards (hobbles  recommended) wild brumbies on the loose

Horse feed:  Please bring your own. It MUST be weed free.  NO GRASS HAY AT ALL. Lucerne hay and pelleted food  OK.

Water Availability:  Creeks and dams.

First Aid: A basic first aid kit will be carried on the ride.

Emergency Contact: Mobile phone and hand held radios will be carried on the ride.

Helmets: All junior riders (under 18) MUST wear AS/NZ 3838 or ASTM F 1163 helmets  less than five years old.

Horse Shoes: Recommended but not essential. Bring boots for unshod horses.

Dogs/Stallions:  Not allowed

Participants will be required to adhere to the ATHRA Code of Conduct which can be found at: www.athra.com.au. It is highly recommended that you read the Code to keep up to date with all rules and regulations
