A belated happy New Year to everyone. I hope you have all managed to have a break and spend some time with those that you love. As January is all but gone our next ride will potentially be on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February 2023 at "Dargo", 209 Cashens Lane, Guyong. This beautiful property is owned by the Holman family who have graciously offered to allow us to ride there. Numbers are requested for those who are interested in camping on Saturday 11 and riding on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Alternatively, we can have a day ride on the Sunday only.
Proposed rides would be:
Saturday - an easy ride to the maze with through open paddocks and undulating country. Suitable for intermediate riders and horses with medium fitness. We may encounter cattle.
Sunday - ride to and on Glenlea (the adjoining property, also owned by the Holmans) over steep hills and open terrain. Suitable for experienced riders and reasonably fit horses.
Campers will need to bring their own yards, horse feed, food, drinks and camping equipment. A BBQ and portaloo will be made available if numbers warrant.
Further details will be posted once it's determined whether the ride will be for one or two days. Riders from other clubs and day members are most welcome providing suitable notice is given. Day memberships are available online at www.athra.com.au
