XMAS Rides and End of Year Celebration!

This year we will be going to one of our favourite venues to celebrate, the Newbury Recreation Reserve.

    The schedule is...

Arrive around midday Saturday to set up camp, before heading out on an afternoon ride in the forest around Trentham, making our way to the Radio Springs Hotel for a drink or two before returning to the Newbury grounds.

After the ride, we will have an Obstacle Course Challenge set up for riders to test their skills and their trusting bond with their horses. See the attached Obstacle Challenge document for all the details so you can practice at home before the day as there’ll be no practice runs at the celebration because we have PRIZES TO BE WON! So join in the fun.

The evening will be a joyous gathering of riders and their partners and families if they wish to come along, where we’ll share a BBQ, drink and reflect on another fantastic year of rides with KDTRC.

The BBQ will be FREE for KDTRC members, however we would like to ask that you bring either nibbles, salad, or a sweet to share. Please let AMY know when you RSVP. Non-members pay $5 for meals.

During dinner will be a KRIS KRINGLE! So bring along a wrapped gift, and we will raffle the order of choosing, just for a little fun. Any gift will do, something horsey, something yummy, something odd! Who cares!

Then in the morning after a breakfast of bacon & eggs, we will head out on a ride hosted by our Club President – Garry Fischer in the stunning forest around Newbury, towards Barry’s Reef. This is truly a unique part of the Central Highlands, and is a beautiful ride. See ride notice below for details.

Finally, we will have a late BBQ lunch back at the grounds to finish up.

For those camping, please be aware there are limited yards (they have dismantled some old yards that were there last year and have gotten rid of the tyre little paddock). The grounds are fenced, put please be prepared to either get there very early to reserve yourself a yard, or bring your own electric ones). Further to that, if you have a chainsaw that you can bring a long to help cut up some firewood for our fire pit, please bring it along.

MAKE SURE WHEN YOU RSVP, tell me which rides you’ll be there for, how many people (non riders there’ll be for meals), and whether you’ll be bringing nibbles, salad, or a sweet.
