EVENTS START AT 10AM SHARP

1. Apple Bobbing Race; contestant’s race from one end of arena to buckets at the other end containing water and apples. Riders dismount; grab an apple not using their hands, and lead horse back to starting line.

2. Bending Race; contestants weave through poles spaced evenly apart.

3. PIG-STICKING RACE. A line of inflated balloons is pegged to the ground at one end of the course. Competitors are provided with light canes, start from the opposite end of the course, burst a balloon with a cane, and race back to the start. 

4. Egg and spoon Race; Riders line up, race to other end, dismount, pick up egg and spoon and race back to start line.

5. Relay race; teams split in to 2 groups and line up facing each other at a given distance. Each rider takes a turn hitting a ball with a broom stick to the next rider. First team to finish wins.

6. Sack Race; Riders race to other end, dismount, climb into the sack and race to finish line.

7. Dog and Bone; Two riders at a time race to a pole that has a bucket over it. Rider first to remove their bucket wins. Process continues till one rider left.

8. Narrowing Witch’s hats; witch’s hats start off wide apart and riders ride between them. After each round the distance apart is narrowed until all contestants have been eliminated by walking out of or touching the hats.

9. Key hole Race; Contestants ride through a narrow pathway to a circular area. Horse must then turn around inside the area. Judged on speed and accuracy.

10. Obstacle Course; Obstacles will be set up and contestants encouraged to attempt each one.

This day is designed to encourage members to come along and have some fun. It is a social day and there will not be any judging of riding ability, gear or horses’ education.

There will be a BBQ lunch provided by the club.

The cost of the day is $20.00 per rider and numbers will be capped at 20 for safety reasons.
