Enfield Queen’s Birthday weekend June midyear camp!

I can’t believe it’s nearly June already! This year we are returning to Enfield for a midyear camp over the Queen’s
    Birthday weekend on the
6th, 7th, 8th June. You can come for the whole weekend and camp, or you can choose which day you’d like to come and just join in for a day ride.
This camping weekend, arranged for us by Eddie Dewar and Deanne Ramage, will be based at John Brady’s property in Enfield, which has great facilities for horses and campers, including some paddocks to share, toilets/shower, covered cooking area etc.

Description of rides:  Eddie Dewar will lead the three rides.  Enfield is mostly flat and fairly soft going underfoot.  We will mostly be going along bush-tracks.  If you want to check ride-details, ring Eddie on 0409651162.  Please attend a  horseless muster  in the rotunda, 15 minutes before each ride to find out any last minute details from Eddie; make sure you’ve signed in before each ride.

Saturday’s ride  will leave at 1 p.m., approx. 2 - 3 hours.  We will stop at the pub for a drink, so $$$

Sunday’s ride will leave at 10 a.m., full day ride, with a saddle-bag lunch.  Back by 3.

Monday’s ride will be the morning only from 10 to 1 p.m. so people have time to pack up and head home.

Bring: your camping gear, an esky, a chair, the following meals for yourself:  Sunday and Monday breakfast, Saturday saddle-bag lunch.  Bring a dish for everyone to share on Saturday and Sunday night... nominate either starters, a salad or a dessert when you nominate for the ride.

Bring your own drink (tea and coffee provided), glass, cup, dishes and cutlery.

Whatever you need for your horse (your own yard if you don’t want to put your horse in a paddock with others), horse-feed, horse-rug etc..

Dogs:  are permitted on this property but must be under control at all times when they’re with you and not annoying any person or horse.  When you’re not with them, they must be tied up.

The club will provide:   meat (or vegetarian alternative if you let me know when you nominate), bread, sauce etc. for BBQ’s Saturday and Sunday nights.  Tea, coffee, sugar, milk.

Cost per person:  $40 per person to cover food and venue. $20 if you’re only coming for one night.

    Directions to Starting Point:

The address is lot 76, Grubbed Rd, Enfield.  Sign on gate says “Lot 76, John Brady”

    From Ballarat:

Stay on the Midland Highway south through Ballarat for approx 6 km.  Turn off to the left onto the Colac Rd whereby you reach the little town of Enfield (approx 15 km).  On your LHS turn down Grubbed Rd, which runs through the Enfield State Forest.  Proceed along this road for 5.5 km till you arrive at the set of double gates to the property on your RHS.

    From Melbourne:
