This ride is open to TTHRInc club members, ATHRA members and non members, who will be required to pay a Day ride fee of $30 for insurance purposes.

Ride Register: It is a requirement that all participants sign the ride register upon arrival at the ride base. A parent or guardian MUST sign the register for junior riders (under 18).

Ride Start Time: Saturday 6 September 2014 for 10:30 AM ride out. Please try to be on time.

Directions from Queanbeyan: Take Bungendore Rd. After 3 kms turn right into Captain’s Flat Rd. Travel 14 kms then turn left into Briars-Sharrow Rd. Turn right after 1 km into Plains Rd. Go 7 kms then turn right at T-junction into Hoskinstown Rd. Continue straight through Hoskinstown hamlet onto gravel road. 5.5 kms after Hoskinstown swing left onto Rossi Rd. Go through Rossi hamlet, and continue up the hill into the Tallaganda Forest.  Approx 16.5 kms past Hoskinstown you will see the Rossi RFS Fireshed on your right just before the top of the hill. Off- road parking is at the Fireshed , or on right just past the fireshed.

 Ride Description: Very easy 16 km loop ride through eucalyptus forest and tree ferns on formed forest tracks. Undulating but not steep.

Ride Warnings/Alerts:  May encounter trail-bikes & cars. One minor road crossing. Wildlife in forest. Short rocky sections on some tracks.

Ride Difficulty:  Easy

Horse Fitness: Horses must be reasonably fit and sound.

Estimated Duration: 3-4 hrs includes lunch break

Catering: BYO lunch and drinks

Equipment: Bring headstalls and lead-rope for tying horses.

Horse feed: Bring your own

Water Availability: Rain puddles & creeks

First Aid: A basic first aid kit will be carried on the ride.

Emergency Contact: 2 way radios will be carried.

Helmets: All junior riders (under 18) MUST wear AS/NZ 3838 or ASTM F 1163 helmets  less than five years old.

Horse Shoes: Recommended but not essential.

Dogs/Stallions:  Not allowed

Participants will be required to adhere to the ATHRA Code of Conduct which can be found at: www.athra.com.au . It is highly recommended that you read the Code to keep up to date with all rules and regulations
