ATHRA: Tasmania
History
The ATHRA organisation commenced in Tasmania in 1989. Prime organisers of the association were Susan Henry and Simon Cubit, who along with many others, have dedicated their time and efforts to promoting leisure horse riding around the state. The purpose of forming the association was to coordinate recreational riders in this state and to develop one voice to lobby governments.
Over time various associations have affiliated. A principal achievement has been the active involvement in developing the Tasmanian Trail.
